Came here the other day when it wasn't as busy. The steak was good but not as steaming hot as I'm used to. I also kept in mind that it was 20 degrees outside and i walked a block to my car lol Trying to park around there is really hard since its on a residential block. Staff were friendly and make your food with a smile as always!!

Tons of meat on the cheesesteak made the way you like it. Several types of cheese available, hoagies also. I had a cheesesteak with wiz, provolone, onions and mushrooms. No fries or extras (except the banana pudding, which goes quickly). A serious cheesesteak.

Great cheesesteaks . I tried to call ahead and order but no answer. Ordered in person and place is small and only about 10 people can line up inside to order. Ordered a mushroom cheesesteak and they started to make it right away and I hadn't specified what else I wanted so couldn't add others fixins. I'll know next time to say whole order right away. Bread was perfect and lots of meat.

Glad they are back!! The steaks are out of pocket good, food is cooked up just perfectly, they give you a good hot serving . The portions are good for price, the orders are cooked up quickly, the service is good , the business is clean and welcoming ! I stop in here anytime I'm in west Philadelphia , this is my go to place for steaks and hoagies, your good is made with love!! If you are in the area give them a try, you will not be disappointed!

Honestly speaking, on the path less travelled, Jim's West Steaks is a great find. I had recently read that Jim's West was an experiencing a rebirth under new leadership so off I went. This cheesesteak was L-O-A-D-E-D! After placing my order the chef got started on my order and seeing how much steak she loaded onto the grill, it was definitely impressive. She just grabbed a handful of steak over her head to the grill and started cooking asap. I asked for two steaks, one with provolone, mushrooms, and onions, the other with wiz, both came filled to the brim with steak. Definitely go for a generous sprinkle of salt and pepper at the end for better flavor, and surprisingly, for me anyway, I was asked distinctly if I wanted mayo, so I said why not. A dash of ketchup was the final addon to this Philly treat. The final verdict, tender chopped juicy steak, no gristle, not too cheesy (which I prefer), nicely cooked and not overdone. I definitely rank this is as a Philly best. For about $12-$14 a steak this was not just tasty but economical as well. Now, this was a bit off the beaten path for sure and the neighborhood, well, get your steak and go. There isn't much eat in space anyway. The good news is that a great cheesesteak will stay a great cheesesteak for a while.

Best cheese steak I've had in Philly and I've had probably 10 different spots and this is by far the best Super friendly staff for our food quick and with a smile! Not much seating but was very clean I got a wit wiz and it was incredible! Will be back for sure makes the drive it is absolutely worth it!

Newly reopened after few years of closured, Jim West Steak will never disappoint you. My husband is a native Philadelphia and he always talked about this place that he used to go. Since we will be town for few days, we didn't waste our times and we drove straight from the airport to Jim West Steak and wow we loved it and my husband had a blast from the past! This place is very clean, beautiful interior in black and white and the staffs were very friendly. I definitely recommend this place for quick delicious Philly cheese steak , although the line might be long to get your order due to the narrow room, but it's worth it. Thank you Jim West Steak!
